A farm festival with heart and a great atmosphere

In mid-September, the Dörrbecker and McKenzie families, together with Kirchhoff Datensysteme Software GmbH, once again opened the gates to their courtyard festival in Wackernheim. Friends, neighbors, and numerous guests gathered in the atmospheric courtyard to celebrate together and support a good cause.

As was the case last year, the EVIM youth welfare project “upstairs” had the opportunity to introduce itself to the guests. Through an information booth and personal conversations, attendees gained insight into the work being done for young people in acute crisis situations. Many visitors took the opportunity to engage in conversation and showed great interest in the challenges young people face today.

This year’s courtyard festival once again offered a festive setting with live music, good food, drinks, and activities for children. The band The McBeck’s and Friends created a lively atmosphere. Despite changeable weather and persistent rain late into the evening, the mood remained open and welcoming.

The evening’s outcome is particularly gratifying. A total of 5,127.82 euros in donations was raised for upstairs. This represents a significant increase over last year’s already excellent result. All proceeds from the courtyard festival benefit the youth welfare project and support young people in difficult life situations in Mainz and Wiesbaden.

For many years, the organizers have made it their mission to specifically support regional projects through their courtyard festival. This continuity and solidarity are of great importance to the work of upstairs.
