St. Martin's message becomes tangible help

Once again, a large crowd gathered for the ecumenical St. Martin’s procession in Ober-Ramstadt. The traditional collection once again raised over 400 euros for the EVIM youth aid project “upstairs.”

On November 11, 2025, the ecumenical St. Martin’s procession in Ober-Ramstadt once again brought together a large crowd. The event is organized by the Protestant parish and the Catholic parish of Liebfrauen, in collaboration with the Protestant Children’s and Family Center Eiche. For many years, staff and volunteers have organized the evening, making it a cherished tradition in the town’s annual calendar.

Three St. Martin’s processions set off from different locations and wound their way through the town along various routes. They were accompanied by the Protestant Church’s trombone choir and the town orchestra. Along the way, St. Martin’s songs were sung in unison at several stops, sometimes accompanied by a rider portraying St. Martin.

On the outskirts of town, all the groups gathered on a large meadow. There, the story of St. Martin was told and acted out by scouts. A communal prayer, the ringing of the nearby church bells, and a closing song marked the end of the official portion of the event. Afterward, many participants stayed together to enjoy children’s punch, mulled wine, and yeast plait.

For many years, a cherished tradition has been part of the St. Martin’s procession. At the end of the event, donations are requested for EVIM’s youth support project, “upstairs.” This collection takes place every year and provides reliable support for the project. This time, too, over 400 euros were raised.

Through their commitment, the participants once again set an example of sharing and supported young people who do not have a stable home. We sincerely thank all participants and donors for this support.
