A home filled with warmth and grateful anticipation

The EVIM residential group in Niedernhausen had every reason to celebrate on December 3, 2024: Hissmekano Deutschland, the European market leader in elevator components, presented an impressive Christmas donation of 2,500 euros. Through this generous support, the company aims to directly benefit the children who have found a safe home in the residential group.

The donation ceremony took place in the cozy, warm, and family-like atmosphere of the residential group. As soon as we entered the living and dining area, it became clear just how much heart and soul the staff put into shaping daily life there. The large dining table was lovingly set, and the enticing aroma of a freshly cooked lunch filled the air. When the children arrived home from school, a cheerful babble of voices filled the house, and the lively bustle reflected the joy of life and sense of security that the group home provides.

Mr. Stefan Lein, authorized signatory at Hissmekano Germany, took the time to get to know everyone personally, together with Ms. Mirjam Schwarz, regional director of EVIM Youth Services, and Ms. Irene Heydkamp and Mr. Dorian Fuhr, both caregivers at the residential group. In a detailed conversation, the residential group presented its valuable work, which provides a stable living environment for children and adolescents facing difficult life circumstances. At the same time, Mr. Lein provided insights into the commitment of Hissmekano, a long-established company headquartered in Täby, Sweden, which has had a sales office and warehouse in Niedernhausen since 2023.

Excitement mounted when Mr. Lein pulled the symbolic donation check out of his pocket and announced the generous sum of 2,500 euros. This news sparked great joy among the caregivers and children alike. The children and caregivers reacted with beaming faces and spontaneous dances of joy, while initial ideas were already being gathered on how the donation could be used.

“It is a matter close to our hearts to support facilities like this one, which offer real prospects to young people facing difficult life situations,” emphasized Mr. Lein. Every year, Hissmekano selects a charitable project to receive a Christmas donation—this year, the choice fell on the Niedernhausen residential group.

The EVIM residential group provides eight children and adolescents aged 8 to 18 with a safe living environment characterized by clear structures, close supervision, and a strong sense of community. The donation is intended to directly benefit the children, who will now work with their caregivers to decide how best to use the money—whether for a special outing, recreational activities, or purchases that enrich their daily lives.

After taking a group photo and engaging in further conversation, Mr. Lein said his goodbyes with warm words and a promise to stay in touch. Hissmekano Germany will certainly be very pleased to learn how the money was used and what positive impact it had on the children’s lives.
