Mal_anders studio

The artists of Atelier Mal_anders have been meeting regularly for 15 years. Their paintings and drawings reveal their dreams and their view of the world in a fascinating way. The works are regularly featured in regional and national exhibitions, where they are highly appreciated and attract a great deal of attention.

There is a smell of paint when you enter the studio, which is housed in a bright, light-filled pavilion that was purchased with donations. The atmosphere in the room is relaxed, with soft music playing in the background. The artists gather their materials or stand in front of their easels. Sometimes they create colorful faces in bright colors, sometimes detailed pencil drawings or expressive self-portraits.

Heidi Lose, who can hardly see and has limited communication skills, uses art as a means of expression. She mixes all her own colors and has her own unique color compositions. Christian Martiny draws exclusively in small formats using fineliners. His drawings are meticulous, every stroke is precise and decisive.

The Frankfurt-based artist Artjom Chepovetskyy has taken over the leadership of the extremely lively and creative Art Brut artist group from the Wiesbaden artist Monika Niebergall. With sensitivity and a high degree of professionalism, he promotes the artistic signature and individual expression of each individual.

The regional and national exhibitions have been very well received and inspire the artists in their work. They experience the appreciation they receive as artists. This strengthens their self-confidence and makes them proud of their artistic achievements.

The exhibitions also help to challenge clichés about the art of people with disabilities and find new answers.

Your donation helps with the purchase of canvases, paints, brushes, and the support of artist Artjom Chepovetskyy.

Creativity knows no bounds

The resulting images clearly show that the possibilities and abilities of people with disabilities are often underestimated. In addition to the opportunities for development and experience for each individual participant, impressive art is created—far beyond the question of disability or normality.

Numerous exhibitions have raised awareness of this project in recent years. For example, new works were shown at the Regional Finance Office in Frankfurt, the Manfred Sauer Foundation in Lobbach im Odenwald, and during the Kassel Museum Night in 2011 and 2019. More than 1,000 visitors were thrilled.

The entire project is financed primarily by donations.

Every cent helps!
