"It's simple! Get married!" – Proceeds from the wedding reception support upstairs

Led by ten pastors and a vicar, exciting pre-wedding consultations took place, marriage certificates were signed, and everyone raised a toast together. The couples—some dressed in formal attire and others in casual clothing—took the opportunity to receive a blessing or even have a church wedding in just 15 minutes.

A special highlight was the variety of wedding venues: in front of the church, in the crypt, inside the church itself, and on the tower of the Marktkirche with a view over the city. Each pastor led an average of five couples through the ceremony, and despite the brevity of the preliminary discussions, there were intense moments of connection.

The event was organized under the leadership of Pastor Bettina Friehmelt and was met with great enthusiasm by all participants. Particularly touching were the stories of the couples, who shared how and where they had met and why they had decided to have their relationship blessed in this way.

A collection was taken during the celebration, with proceeds going to the EVIM youth aid project “upstairs.” Thanks to these generous donations, we can continue to provide vital support to young people in need.
